When the Bread Sings...

you can hear it, as the crust crackles with the temperature change as it is removed from the oven. This is a loaf of our ‘everyday’ bread, or cottage loaf. Free-formed loaves are prettier, but the pan shape is much better for toasters!

Yum! What's the swirly stuff on the left? Looks like cinnamon rolls...?
If I come over, will you serve me tea and something tasty so I can blog about it?
Oh! That looks so yummy!!!!!!
LOL! I was going to ask if you knew Beth at kitchenmage, that you two must be close to neighbors. But I see she's already posted!
Well, I'm Gina in northern New York. You recently posted to my blog (lindseysluscious) and that led me to yours. I am very jealous of where you live! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and miss it very much.
Any chance I can talk you into sharing the recipe for your "cottage loaf?" I would love to try it. Thanks--Gina
